Asphalt coated fiberglass fabrics will not rot, not easily tear or wear. It is lightweight and will conform to irregular surfaces.
There is no chemical hazard from this material. Too much fiberglass dust in the air will be irritating to the respiratory tract and eyes, but this is not likely to happen with this material. Glass fiber particles are irritating to the skin. Wear gloves. Shower and clean work clothes daily is recommended.
