Ron Franklin Joins Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics
Industry Leader Joins Glass Mat Operations Team (Grand Island, NY) – Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics, Americas announced today that Ron Franklin has joined the company as Glass Mat Operations Manager. Ron will oversee both glass mat facilities located in Charleston, SC and Russellville, AL, while being based in Charleston.
Ron has over 25 years experience in implementing novel processes and products in textile manufacturing. Previous to joining Saint-Gobain, Ron was the General Manager for glass mat operations at GAF Materials Corporation. He also held various roles with GAF as Executive Director of Manufacturing, Plant Manager and Corporate Safety Director. Prior to GAF, Ron was employed at Milliken and Company as a Plant Engineer. Ron is a graduate of Clemson University where he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Both of the glass mat plants Ron will be managing have recently been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification by the International Organization for Standardization. In addition to ensuring a high level of quality, Ron will also be instrumental in the commitment of developing the next generation of new products that bring value-add to Saint-Gobain’s customers.
The appointment is effective Monday, August 10, 2009.
