GRAND ISLAND, NY (April 23, 2009) -- To enforce its U.S. patent rights relating to the company’s innovative GlasGrid® family of fiber glass road reinforcement products, Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics (SGTF) has filed a patent infringement complaint against Checkmate Geosynthetics in United States District Court in Orlando, Florida,

 

The complaint, filed March 27th, alleges that Checkmate Geosynthetics imports and promotes a product in the United States that infringes on at least one of SGTF’s patents. Checkmate’s infringing product is sold under the name RoadGrid. SGTF has asked the court to order Checkmate to halt its infringing activity and pay damages for past infringement. SGTF has patent protection through 2012 that covers the installation of GlasGrid products.
