Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics is Recognized by the EPA
As ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year

(Grand Island, NY) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics (SGTF) and its parent company, Saint-Gobain, a 2009 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year Award winner for outstanding energy management and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. The company was one of three new winners in the competition’s “energy management” competition. The award will be presented at a ceremony in Washington, DC on March 31, 2009.

The 2009 Partner of the Year Awards recognize efforts to use energy efficiently in facility operations and to integrate superior energy management into overall organizational strategy. Award winners are selected from more than 12,000 organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program.  “EPA is pleased to recognize Saint-Gobain for leadership in addressing global warming through greater energy efficiency,” says Kathleen Hogan, EPA’s Director of the Climate Protection Partnerships Division.

Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics has contributed to this success through energy-awareness programs, key process improvements and implementation of energy management practices in 2008. SGTF is committed to the environment and continues to participate in programs to build environmental management standards. SGTF also offers a variety of “green” building products.

Last year alone, Americans with the help of ENERGY STAR saved $19 billion on their energy bills and reduced greenhouse gas emission equivalent to those of 29 million vehicles.
ENERGY STAR was introduced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in 1992 as a voluntary market-based partnership to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through increased energy efficiency. Today, ENERGY STAR offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions to save energy, money and help protect the environment for future generations. For more information about ENERGY STAR, visit www.energystar.gov.  To learn more about Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics, visit www.sgtf.com.
